Zelensky awarded 449 soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with state awards

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky recognized 449 soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, of whom 179 received awards posthumously. The awards were given for 'personal courage and heroism exhibited in defense of the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, selfless service to the Ukrainian people'.

One of those honored was Lieutenant Colonel Kapitul Dmytro Viktorovych, who was awarded the title 'Cross of Military Merit'. Kapitul became the brigade commander of the 46th separate airborne assault brigade of the Armed Forces. He previously held the position of commander of one of the battalions of the 95th separate airborne assault brigade. Before that, Kapitul replaced Colonel Vitaliy Zolotaryov.

The president also recognized Major Revutsky Kostiantyn Oleksandrovych, who was awarded the title 'Cross of Military Merit'.

In his address, Volodymyr Zelensky expressed gratitude for the service of the soldiers: 'We must always remember how much depends on our army – from all Ukrainians who protect the life of Ukraine with their lives. I thank each of our soldiers'.

Earlier, in March, Zelensky also recognized the servicemen of the National Guard of Ukraine on the occasion of their 11th anniversary.
