Bad weather is approaching Ukraine, rescuers warn of danger.

On May 4, thunderstorms and strong winds with gusts up to 20 m/s are expected in Ukraine. This was reported by meteorologists, citing the State Emergency Service of Ukraine and the Kyiv City State Administration.
On Sunday, May 4, weather conditions will worsen across the country, except for the southeast. Thunderstorms will occur in many regions, and strong winds will reach speeds of 15-20 m/s.
In connection with this, a level I hazard (yellow) has been declared. The weather may hinder the work of energy, communal, and construction services, as well as interfere with transportation.
In Kyiv and some regions of the country, brief rains and thunderstorms are expected. The temperature in the capital will range from 12 to 14 degrees at night and up to 25-27 degrees during the day.
During strong winds, it is recommended to:
- close windows tightly;
- remove items from balconies that could fall;
- avoid parking cars near trees, billboards, or power lines;
- stay in shelters or interiors as much as possible.
It should be noted that frosts have returned to Ukraine after a warm March. Meteorologists explained what the weather will be like in the first days of May. The temperature during the day will range from +12 to +16 degrees, and in some regions it may reach +22 degrees.
Ukraine has been experiencing frosts since the beginning of April, especially in the western regions. The temperature may drop to -5 degrees, which will significantly affect grain crops. Different crops have different frost resistance and may suffer to varying degrees.
A conversation was also held with agronomist Tetiana Adamenko about the cold snap and its impact on different crops. She explained that if corn had been planted and had sprouted, it could have died. Different crops suffer from frost and may require replanting.
Moreover, problems with ticks are beginning in Ukraine. The season of their activity will last until autumn, but the highest activity is expected in May-June and September-October. Details on protection against ticks during outdoor recreation are provided by the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Center for Disease Control and Prevention.
