Russian Advances in Selydove Slow Enemy's Offensive on Pokrovsk – ISW.

Ukrainian forces managed to stop the advance of Russian troops in the city of Selydove and its outskirts. However, there is a threat of encirclement, so it may be necessary for Ukrainian defenders to leave the city. This was reported by expert Julian Röpke.
On the Pokrovsk direction, Russian troops succeeded in capturing Selydove. They entered Vuhledar and began to establish themselves in high-rise buildings. Nevertheless, their progress is slowing due to the concentration of Russian forces in this area, complicating their movement towards Pokrovsk. This is reported by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
According to ISW, Russian forces also succeeded in capturing Izmaylivka, located southeast of Selydove. They are also making progress on the northeastern outskirts of Novoselidivka and fields northwest of Tsukuryne.
ISW indicates that Selydove is not Russia's primary objective on this front. Therefore, the Ukrainian decision to defend the city led to the concentration of a large contingent of Russian forces, slowing their movement towards Pokrovsk.
