Ukraine is actively negotiating to expand trade with the EU.

Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine Taras Kachka reported that Ukraine and the EU are actively working to ensure that Ukrainian goods have greater access to the European market. He made this statement during the Committee hearings on deepening trade and economic relations with the EU when Ukraine was granted candidate status. Efforts are directed towards continuing trade preferences and liberalization of trade with the EU. Moreover, Ukraine is negotiating to be exempt from the EU's Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) until the war is over and reconstruction takes place. The possibility of reporting emissions without making payments is also being considered.

It was also noted about the work on expanding the Agreement on Industrial Visa-Free Regime (ACAA) to more goods. The goal is to conclude the agreement this year and cover up to 80% of industrial exports to the EU. Deputy Minister of Economy Andriy Telyupa emphasized the importance of state support programs for manufacturers, which help Ukrainian enterprises become stronger and successfully integrate into the European market. He also noted that Ukraine can become an important partner for Europe in creating strategically autonomous industry.
