Russian occupiers launched 111 strike drones at Ukraine
The night of January 1 was filled with terror from the Russian occupiers. They launched 111 strike drones of the 'Shahed' type at Ukraine. This information was provided by the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
On the night of January 1, 2025, Russian forces carried out an attack using 111 strike drones of the 'Shahed' type and other types of drones. The attack was carried out from the directions of Bryansk, Orel, Primorsk-Akhtarsk, and Crimea. The Air Forces reported that the enemy began launching drones at 8:30 PM on December 31, 2024.
It was noted that the aerial attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, mobile fire groups of the Air Forces, and Defense Forces of Ukraine.
The Air Forces confirmed the destruction of 63 strike drones of the 'Shahed' type and other types in Poltava, Sumy, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Zaporizhzhia, Zhytomyr, Khmelnytskyi, Kirovohrad, and Mykolaiv regions as of 9:30 AM on January 1.
Additionally, 46 enemy imitation drones were lost due to the counteractions of the Defense Forces, but this had no negative consequences. Furthermore, two drones flew into Russia and Belarus.
As a reminder, on January 1, Russian occupiers attacked Kyiv using strike drones. Debris from the enemy target was found in the Pechersk district of the capital, where the top two floors of a building were partially destroyed. All services are on site. Currently, six injured individuals are known.
