In Chernihiv, priests offer to baptize children online.

In Chernihiv, priests have adapted to the conditions of war
In Chernihiv, priests have managed to adapt to the conditions of war by offering the possibility of conducting children's baptisms in a remote format. This practice was introduced in some churches of the city after the start of the Russian invasion. This was reported by the Cheline resource.
The rector of the Cathedral of St. Great Martyr Catherine, Roman (Kynyk), mentioned that baptisms are sometimes conducted via video connection. This decision became relevant because some parents or godparents are now at the front.
Sometimes, parents want to choose a godparent, but he is currently defending Ukraine. In such cases, they turn on the phone, and the godparent connects. The godparent's spouse is present to hold the phone, allowing him to join the sacrament. - explains Father Roman.
The priest notes that this format does not violate church canons. Even online, a person spiritually participates in the baptism, making it complete. After returning, the godparent will be able to hold the child in their arms and give them their love and warmth.
Previously, a priest who served for 10 years in the Moscow church shared how he was compelled to switch to the OCU.
The priest also recounted why his parishioners refused to pray in Ukrainian.
