Need to weaken the Russian aviation - what the general suggests to the Bundeswehr

Major General of the German Armed Forces Christian Freuding expressed the idea of strikes on Russian airbases and military infrastructure to protect Ukraine from missile and drone attacks.

In his interview on the Bundeswehr program, Freuding explained that it is important to strike aircraft, airbases, and other aerial assets with long-range means in advance to prevent their use.

Protection against drones and missiles

The general emphasized that Russia is actively developing the production of drones, ballistic and cruise missiles, which could pose significant threats to Ukraine. To counter these threats, he called on NATO allies to strengthen sanctions against Moscow and its accomplices.

'Ukraine should be able to counter drones for significantly less cost than what is spent on Patriot missiles, which are used for this purpose', the general emphasized.

Currently, Russia is increasing the production of strike drones and plans to carry out more strikes against Ukraine, creating the need to enhance readiness and protect the country.

Overall, Freuding urged coordinated actions from NATO to prevent possible threats and strengthen Ukraine's defense capabilities in the face of Russian aggression.
