Oil prices have fallen to their lowest level in the last four years
On Wednesday, April 9, oil prices reached their lowest level in the last four years. This occurred due to increased concerns about oil demand due to the 'trade war' between the USA and China, as well as rising supply.
Both oil grades (both Brent and WTI - ed.) have been falling for five trading sessions in a row. The reason for this was President Trump's announcement of new tariffs on most imported goods. This raised concerns that the global trade conflict could halt economic growth and reduce fuel demand.
Brent oil prices fell by 3.79% to $60.44 per barrel, and American WTI dropped by 4.13% to $57.12 - the lowest level since February 2021.
Experts also predict how the decline in oil prices will affect gasoline prices in the future.
In this situation, Russian oil of the VSTO grade has also decreased in price and has fallen below the upper limit of the price ceiling set by Western countries at $60 per barrel.
