Intelligence reported how the Russian Federation is solving the problem of the shortage of junior officers.

Russia is organizing military training centers based on higher educational institutions
According to the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Russia is beginning to establish military training centers based on civilian higher educational institutions. These centers are planned to conduct basic training for platoon commanders, artillery batteries, and deputy company commanders.
The intelligence states that this decision is linked to the heavy losses of Russia among junior officers at the front. Because of this, Russia is trying to increase the volume of their training. The establishment of military training centers may provide basic training for platoon commanders, artillery batteries, and deputy company commanders.
It is worth noting that a junior officer in the Russian army performs the role of an infantryman in an assault directly on the battlefield, which leads to significant losses. This results in a shortage of lieutenants in the Russian army.
According to Russia's plans, by the end of 2024, 33 new military training centers are to be launched, which will be added to nearly a hundred existing ones. The accelerated activation of Moscow in training fresh lieutenants indicates a deepening personnel crisis in the command staff of the Russian occupying army.
We remind you that the Russian naval forces conducted a large-scale strategic exercise “Ocean-24” in September 2024 after a two-year break.
