Russian athlete Shaidullina, who illegally visited Crimea, announced for the European Weightlifting Championship.

The Russian national team for the 2025 European Weightlifting Championship has been announced. Among the participants is Regina Shaidullina, who illegally visited the annexed Crimea. This was reported by 'Gromadske'.
Regina Shaidullina is a European champion among juniors and the champion of Russia among adults. In 2022, she participated in a training camp for the women's national weightlifting team of Russia. This camp took place in the temporarily occupied Crimea, in Alushta.
Shaidullina, along with other Russian athletes, entered the territory of occupied Crimea without undergoing customs and border control, violating Ukraine's laws.
The athletes who participated in the camp in occupied Alushta violated Ukrainian legislation and created threats to the national interests of the country, national security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. Criminal cases should be initiated against them. The law provides for up to 5 years imprisonment for violating the entry order to the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine and for leaving it - the message reads.
The 2025 European Weightlifting Championship will take place in Chisinau (Moldova) from April 13 to April 21.
In March 2022, Russian weightlifters were banned from participating in international competitions due to the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. In May 2023, the International Weightlifting Federation allowed Russians to participate in tournaments under a neutral status.
It is worth noting that the 19-year-old football player from Crimea, Roman Markov, was eliminated by the defense forces in the Belgorod region.
Roman Markov was born on June 2, 2005, in Kerch, Ukraine. He had been playing football since the age of 5 and played for various teams such as FC 'Gryphon', 'Legion', and 'Avangard'. He represented Kerch in the Crimea Championship and participated in all-Russian tournaments. The young footballer won many awards and accolades, including the best defender and winner in various categories - the local media reported.
In 2024, Markov graduated from the Ship Mechanic College in Kerch.
