The Russian Federation has sentenced a soldier who voluntarily surrendered to the Ukrainian Armed Forces for the first time.

The trial of the first criminal case regarding voluntary surrender to the Ukrainian Armed Forces has concluded in the South Sakhalinsk garrison military court. The serviceman Roman Ivanishin was accused of surrendering and desertion.
