A ferry with 65 people sank near Bali.


A tragedy occurred near the resort island of Bali in Indonesia - a ferry sank with 65 people on board. According to
AP, there were 53 passengers, 12 crew members, and 22 vehicles on the ship, including 14 trucks. The ferry disappeared into the depths of the sea about 30 minutes after departing from the port in East Java on its way to Bali.
Rescuers are currently continuing the search for 43 missing persons in stormy seas. Lucky ones managed to rescue 20 people, but some of them are in serious condition due to prolonged wandering in turbulent waters. Nine boats are involved in the search, including two tugboats and two inflatable boats, working under wave conditions of up to 2 meters at night.

AP, similar ferry tragedies have become common in Indonesia, where numerous islands and ferries are the most common means of transport, but safety regulations are not always followed.
