The most powerful dust storm named 'Khamasin' has hit Egypt, resulting in the sky being covered in a bright orange-yellow color. This information was reported by Ahram Online referencing Glavcom. In the northwest of the country in Alexandria, a severe sandstorm has occurred, causing a dangerous amount of sand to tint the sky orange. Local authorities are urging citizens not to go outside unless necessary, as this poses a threat to people's safety. It is forecasted that the wind will blow at speeds of 40-60 km/h, with gusts up to 80 km/h, significantly reducing visibility, especially in the northern regions of the country, such as Upper Egypt, Cairo, the Suez Canal, the Sinai Peninsula, and the Gulf of Suez. The situation will be difficult for the next few days. Citizens are advised to avoid weak structures, wear masks outdoors, and follow official updates. Road conditions may be hazardous due to airborne dust and poor visibility.Temperatures will also be high, expected to be 33°C in Cairo and between 33°C and 40°C across the territory. However, by the end of the week, a noticeable decrease in temperature is anticipated, with 27°C in Cairo and between 28°C and 34°C across the rest of the territory.Earlier, on April 15, a sandstorm hit Iraq, causing police and pedestrians to protect themselves with masks from the thick dust.Additionally, Glavcom has prepared a forecast for magnetic storms for the next three days, based on data from the Space Weather Prediction Center (SWPC) NOAA.
