In Xiamen, China, a new season of the Diamond League - the largest commercial athletics competitions - has begun. Ukrainian athletes Yaroslava Mahuchikh and Yuliya Levchenko also participated in these competitions.Mahuchikh, who is the reigning Olympic champion in high jump, has already won the Diamond League finals three times. Together with Levchenko, they competed for first place in Xiamen against the Australians Nicola Olyslaagers and Eleanor Patterson, who won silver and bronze at the 2024 Olympics.This competition in Xiamen was the second for Mahuchikh in 2025 after the indoor World Championship. At that Time, both Australians outperformed Mahuchikh (Olyslaagers took gold), while the Ukrainian, who competed with discomfort in her leg, won bronze.During the stage in Xiamen, Olyslaagers was the season leader, having already jumped 2.01 m. The last time the Ukrainian did not win a competition was in July 2023, finishing in third place.The next stage of the Diamond League will take place on May 3 in Shanghai, where Mahuchikh and Levchenko will also participate.At the U-23 European Fencing Championship taking place in Tallinn, Ukrainian athletes have already won gold medals.
