Hasek informed the IOC that former Russian president Medvedev threatened to kill him.

Dominik Hasek reported a threat to his life
The legendary Czech goalie Dominik Hasek addressed the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF), to report a threat to his life from former Russian president Dmitry Medvedev. He also emphasized the importance of the IOC and IIHF decisions and offered assistance in creating rules to ensure that sports competitions do not become a tool for advertising the Russian war. Hasek plans to make his letters public in a few days.
Recall that Medvedev expressed a threat to Hasek by congratulating Russian player Ovechkin on his new record in the NHL. Hasek has been actively against the participation of Russian and Belarusian athletes in international competitions since the invasion of Russian troops into Ukraine.
Ukraine demands the suspension of the Russian serviceman
Ukrainian sports officials are urging the international sports community to verify the authenticity of information regarding the assignment of neutral status to Russian athlete Varvara Prokhorova, who, according to known sources, is a serviceman of the Russian armed forces. This contradicts IOC recommendations that prohibit the participation of athletes from the armed forces or security forces of the Russian Federation and Belarus in international competitions. Foreign athletes competing under a neutral flag should also refrain from using national symbols and expressing support for the war in Ukraine.
