Poland Offers Electricity to Ukraine Instead of Slovakia
Poland's Minister of Climate and Environment, Paulina Hennig-Kloska, stated that Poland is ready to supply electricity to Ukraine if shipments from Slovakia are halted. She noted that Poland has sufficient capacity to increase electricity supplies to Ukraine, but this will only be possible at the request of Ukraine itself.
Hennig-Kloska also criticized the position of Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico, stating that his behavior is not in line with European values. She urged Ukraine to take up Poland's offer.
This statement was made in response to Robert Fico, who announced a possible halt to electricity supplies to Ukraine. Moreover, Fico threatened to cut aid to refugees and demanded the resumption of gas transit or compensation for the losses Slovakia suffered due to the cessation of Russian gas transit through Ukraine.
