Experts warn that after the privatization of marshrutkas in Kyiv, the price of transportation may rise to 30 hryvnias. According to Law 6013, which provides for the privatization of public transport, all carriers will become private, which may lead to an increase in travel costs. Currently, local authorities and carriers are discussing the minimum acceptable fare, which will be around 25 hryvnias. Expert Oleg Popenko also noted that the privatization of trams and trolleybuses will lead to the cessation of subsidies from the local budget, which will affect their operation and ticket prices. Critics of the law argue that this reform is aimed at centralizing power and depriving local self-government of financial independence.
