EU diplomats assessed the possibility of European peacekeepers in Ukraine.

Diplomats and officials of the European Union express doubts about the possibility of sending peacekeepers to Ukraine without the participation of the United States. They believe it will be difficult to convince the European population of the need to deploy European troops on Ukrainian territory. This issue was discussed among the leaders of the Euro Council, the European Commission, and EU countries. Diplomats believe that Russia will not tolerate the presence of European soldiers on Ukrainian soil, and it will be hard to sell to the European public. It is noted that Europe considers it necessary to end hostilities before considering the possibility of sending a peacekeeping mission to Ukraine. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky perceives positive changes in discussions regarding this issue and suggests joining the idea of deploying a European military contingent in Ukraine. However, international allies are still not ready to invite Ukraine to NATO, which for it is a reliable guarantee in the long term.
