It is reported that the referee ordered the game to be stopped when the thunder occurred. As a result of the strike, 39-year-old player Jose Ugo de la Cruz Meza died, and 40-year-old goalkeeper Juan Chocca Llacta suffered serious body burns. Other injured people are in stable condition. The tragedy occurred during a regional tournament in the city of Chilca, Huancayo province.
