Gasoline, Diesel and Corn: Ukraine and Poland Increase Trade Volume.

The Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food, Vitaliy Koval, stated that the trade volume between Ukraine and Poland is increasing. He made this announcement during the Polish-Ukrainian dialogues.
According to Koval, the trade volume between the countries reached 11.7 billion dollars in 2024. Of this, 7 billion dollars is Poland's export to Ukraine, and 4.6 billion dollars is the export of Ukrainian goods to Poland. The Minister believes that this imbalance needs to be addressed, and business development can contribute to the growth of mutual trade.
Ukraine imports diesel fuel and gasoline totaling 1.5 million tons. Regarding agricultural products, last year Ukraine imported production means and mineral fertilizers from Poland worth 354 million dollars. This import constitutes a significant share of Ukrainian agricultural products. For example, to grow one ton of Ukrainian corn, we need to import 75% of the components. The success of Ukrainian agrarians is determined by the profitability of international companies, including Polish ones, the Minister emphasized.
Koval highlighted the importance of dialogue based on figures, understanding, and mutually beneficial cooperation. The development of Ukraine's agricultural sector benefits both Poland and us.
The Minister thanked the Polish business for their support and urged them to invest in agribusiness in Ukraine, as increasing the added value of Ukrainian products is vital for the country.
Koval also noted that Ukraine values its friends who stood by during difficult times and encouraged them to continue supporting Ukraine in the future.
The darkest hour is before dawn, but we just need to hold on when it seems there is no way out. We must look for common ground. Ukraine is not a threat but a partner for moving forward, the Minister emphasized.
