The main Iranian and American negotiators resumed talks on Iran's nuclear program on Sunday, Iranian state media reported. The meeting took place amid efforts to make progress ahead of U.S. President Donald Trump's visit to the Middle East.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Trump's envoy to the Middle East, Steve Wittecoff, held the fourth round of negotiations in Muscat under Oman's mediation. This comes despite a tough public stance from Washington, which, according to Iranian officials, does not aid the negotiations, Reuters reports.

At the same Time, Wittecoff stated in an interview with Breitbart News on Thursday that Washington's 'red line' is: 'No enrichment. This means dismantling facilities, no military component', which demands the complete dismantling of Iran's nuclear facilities in Natanz, Fordow, and Isfahan.

Trump, who has threatened military action against Iran should diplomacy fail, will visit Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates from May 13 to 16. In response to Wittecoff's statements, Araghchi emphasized on Saturday that Iran will not compromise on its nuclear rights, including uranium enrichment.
