Nuclear energy is not keeping up with the 'first wave' of artificial intelligence.

The Meta Platforms Inc. agreement is a new signal of the technology sector's need for more energy. The demand from data centers is quickly overwhelming the energy grid as companies require electricity to operate artificial intelligence, highlighting a mismatch with the energy industry.
United Texas plans to utilize the equivalent of 30 nuclear reactors to cover the growing demand from AI. However, even if the construction of a new nuclear power plant were to start immediately, it would take years before electricity deliveries to data centers begin.
Increasing Energy Demand in the Technology Sector
The increasing demand for energy in the technology sector, especially for the operation of artificial intelligence, has become a challenge for the energy industry. The agreement on utilizing nuclear energy indicates the need to find new energy sources to address this growing demand.
Amidst the rising use of artificial intelligence, companies are actively seeking new sources of energy, leading to unconventional agreements such as the use of nuclear energy. This opens up new opportunities for the energy sector but also presents a challenge regarding the supply of this energy in the future.
